New Zealand

I have been so excited to share about our trip to New Zealand, although as soon as we returned I of course had the worst cold. Being pregnant I hate taking anything and tried every natural remedy to cure myself. After weeks of fighting it resulting in a stomach bug and even a Easter Sunday hospital trip to get more fluids. I am back! I finally feel like myself again, besides the wonderful heartburn that won't be leaving until she arrives (hopefully!).

Heath and I couldn't have asked for a better trip to Queenstown, New Zealand. We would have loved to discovery more of the country but I are so thankful for the time we got to spend together in this BEAUTIFUL country.

We spent the week in Queenstown, New Zealand and ventured to small towns and tourist spots in the area. Heath and I both agreed that New Zealand is by far the most beautiful place we had both been to. The scenery is undescribable and I feel like the pictures can't even explain the beauty of the country. If you are a adventure junkie this is the place for you - from bungee jumping, skydiving, water rafter, jet boat tours - the city is filled with adrenaline pumping activities. I clearly was in no state to signing up for the bungee jumping ( honestly have no desire - not a fan of heights), although it was thrilling to watch others! Yikes!

Where we stayed: We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa. It was a beautiful hotel located on Lake Wakatipu, the only downside was it wasn't downtown in Queenstown. Although, the water taxi was an option to take across the lake (very fun & scenic) or about a 10-15 min drive - shuttles were going consistently throughout the day making it easy to jump on and off.

How we filled our days in New Zealand

  • Rented bikes and rode around the lake and stopped at **** winery. I enjoyed a cheese board and Heath sipped on a Pinot Noir. The landscape is perfect!
  • Arrowtown: An adorable town outside of Queenstown. Great shopping and restaurants.
  • Milford Sounds flight: Took a small plane to Milford Sounds. Absolutely beautiful and so worth the money. You can also take a shuttle to Milford Sounds - takes a couple hours and not as scenic as the private flight. After arriving we jumped on a boat and viewed the sound. We saw beautiful waterfalls and dolphins. So amazing!
  • Favorite Restaurant: The Butchery - Must get the venison
  • Must have item: Possum Fur - I got the most adorable beanie. These possums aren't ugly like the ones in the US, they also have a major issue with overpoplated Possums in NZ.
