Our beautiful home is almost ready to make her big 8 mile journey to the Barney York Ranch! They have removed the front porch brick and my Dad and Heath have worked so hard to try and collect all the salvageable pieces to reuse.
They plan to move her very soon and we are hoping to get photos of the process! Can you imagine watching this house go down the road?!
Metal beams were placed underneath the home as seen in the photos to support the home as she travels. We will be placing her next to the permanent spot since the foundation has not been poured yet. We have been working with a draftsman to plan the remodel and add-on to the home. After we finalize our new home plan, the remodel process will begin! Since it was built about 100 years ago it has some funky stuff going on. We want to keep the character and charm of the home but also want it to be functional for our growing family. We plan to add on a master suite, give the bathrooms and kitchen a little facelift. What’s so funny about the home is it’s missing pieces that we take for granted today - no space for a refrigerator or area for a washer and dryer. They didn’t build homes for those spaces 100 years ago! So adding in an area for laundry/mudroom and a place to put a fridge was so important. So far we are loving all the changes and look forward to sharing the journey with you all!
